GOOD GEAR GUIDE - EDITOR'S CHOICE

Expertrecension från : Ross Catanzariti (goodgearguide.com.au)

RIM BlackBerry Curve 8900

RIM, the manufacturer of the iconic BlackBerry smartphone, has certainly been busy of late.

Excellent design, fantastic display, BlackBerry e-mail, Wi-Fi and GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, document editor

Lack of 3G connectivity, flimsy battery cover rattles, keyboard is a little noisy when pressed

Despite lacking 3G, the BlackBerry Curve 8900 is still an excellent smartphone, and it boasts an outstanding display. The stylish and compact design makes it the best looking BlackBerry yet, without compromising the end user experience.

BlackBerry Curve 8900 review: Curved right

The sharp and compact BlackBerry Curve 8900 spells business and oozes with class. Easily the hottest looker in the Curve lineup – and possibly portfolio-wide – earns much respect as a massive functionality upgrade over its predecessors...

2.4" 65K-color TFT landscape display with a resolution of 480 x 360 pixels ; Comfortable four-row full QWERTY keyboard ; Quad-band GSM support ; Wi-Fi ; BlackBerry OS v4.6 ; Trackball navigation ; Built-in GPS and BlackBerry maps preloaded ; 3.15 MP...

No 3G ; No email support without BlackBerry Internet Service account ; Mediocre camera ; No FM radio

BlackBerry 8900 Curve doesn't pack the groundbreaking punch of its Storm sibling. Despite the fact that it upgrades the older generation of Curves quite painstakingly the whole user experience implies evolution rather than revolution. But then, that...

T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve 8900 review

Along with the Pearl, the Curve series represents the kinder, gentler side of BlackBerry; it's the side that appeals to consumers without sacrificing power, and from time to time, it's the side that's even been known to show some sex appeal. The ...

BlackBerry Curve 8900 - black (AT&T) review

Editors' note: The RIM BlackBerry Curve 8900 for AT&T is similar to T-Mobile's Curve 8900 in design. For this review, we will be concentrating on the different features and performance compared with the T-Mobile version. For a full description of the...

The RIM BlackBerry Curve 8900 offers a sleeker design and a vibrant display. The smartphone features Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS, and brings new productivity tools, a full HTML Web browser, and a 3.2-megapixel camera. There's also support for the...

The BlackBerry Curve 8900 lacks 3G.

The RIM BlackBerry Curve 8900 brings a number of improvements and additions to make it a nice upgrade to the Curve 8300 series. That said, AT&T offers other QWERTY smartphones that include 3G support and for less.

RIM BlackBerry Curve 8900 (T-Mobile)

A killer keyboard and a gorgeous screen make the Curve 8900 our latest Editors' Choice smartphone.

Gorgeous, ultra-high-res screen. Sublime keyboard. Smooth and elegant operation. Terrific messaging, solid music and video players. Makes free calls over Wi-Fi.

No 3G. Subpar Web browser.

Review: RIM BlackBerry Curve 8900

Barack Obama would love to get his executive mitts on the new BlackBerry Curve. Just like our new prez, RIM's latest smartphone is full of...

Slick, sexy design mashes the best of the Bold and Curve 8830. Brilliant, high-resolution screen is one of the best we’ve seen on a RIM device. Full HTML-rendering on websites. 3.2-megapixel camera is even better when paired with video-recording...

3G is MIA. Despite the powerful 512-Mhz processor, the software still lags. New website and software don’t perform as well as they should. Phone quality was mixed and loud speakers fail to compensate for somewhat distorted music playback

BlackBerry Curve 8900 (T-Mobile) review

T-Mobile teased us at CES 2009 by introducing the RIM BlackBerry Curve 8900 but denying us any details on availability date and pricing. Fortunately, we didn't have to wait too long as the carrier has released the final details and has given us our own...

The RIM BlackBerry Curve 8900 offers a sleeker and more solidly constructed design as well as a brilliant display. The smartphone features Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS and brings new productivity tools, a full HTML Web browser, and a 3.2-megapixel camera.

The Curve 8900 lacks 3G support, and the smartphone can occasionally be sluggish.

We're disappointed by the lack of 3G, but the RIM BlackBerry Curve 8900 is a solid update to the Curve series, bringing a better design, improved features, and faster performance and is one of T-Mobile's top smartphone offerings.

BlackBerry Curve 8900

A major benefit: The phone works with T-Mobile's $10-per-month unlimited Wi-Fi calling plan, which lets you make calls from any Wi-Fi network you can connect to. The 8900 connected easily to wireless networks via Linksys and Apple routers. Calls were...

Gorgeous, ultra-high-res screen. Sublime keyboard. Smooth and elegant operation. Terrific messaging, solid music and video players. Makes free calls over Wi-Fi

No 3G. Subpar Web browser

Combining some of the best features of past BlackBerrys, the Curve 8900 is T-Mobile's most sophisticated smartphone to date.

BlackBerry Curve 8900

It is difficult to go anywhere without seeing a BlackBerry Curve, especially if you have the misfortune to commute to work everyday on public transport. The last generation, the 8300 series, was a venerable workhorse, simple in design and interface,...

New friendlier OS, faster, refreshed consumer friendly design, GPS and Wi-Fi, excellent for email

Keyboard movement, no HSDPA

But the phone isn’t perfect. It isn’t a mini clone of the Bold, it’s a different device, which might irk those who want or need faster data rates. Whilst the build quality is good all over, a few things niggle: some play in the keyboard, a common...
