Wileyfox Storm review

Can this bargain blower compete with the OnePlus 2?

Awesome value ; Big, sharp screen ; Super-customisable software

Pretty poor battery life ; Slow-to-focus camera ; Feels cheaper than you might expect

A large-screen bargain buster that's only let down by its battery life

Wileyfox Storm review

£199 can get you a lot of phone these days

With a great screen, snappy performance, refreshing OS and a strong camera the Wileyfox Storm is an excellent option for power users and more casual users alike at the price. Yet, with average battery life, it isn't quite perfect.

Wileyfox Storm review

It's fast and reasonably cheap, but the rest of the WileyFox Storm is false economy

The WileyFox Storm's flaws outweigh its advantages. It might be fast with a customisable operating system, but its display, battery life and camera are no match for the Moto X Play, or indeed the Moto G4. If you're determined to keep costs down below...

Wileyfox Storm review: Affordable phone makes too many compromises

A poor camera and unimpressive battery life means this low-cost big-screened phone still isn't worth your cash.

The Wileyfox Storm is affordable, has a big, crisp screen, and its tweaked version of Android is clean and easy to use.

The Storm's camera and battery both perform poorly, and the processor doesn't impress either.

The Storm's low price comes with many compromises, making the Motorola Moto X Play a better buy in every respect.

Wileyfox Storm review

Can the new samrtphone brand impress us a second time with its flagship phone? Here's our Wileyfox Storm review.

Overall the Wileyfox Storm is a decent phone for under £200 and has a upgraded compared to the cheaper Swift model. However, poor battery life and a disappointing camera mean we actually prefer the Swift. If you do want a bigger phone it's hard to...

Wileyfox Storm Review: In Depth

Full Wileyfox Storm review: We test the Wileyfox Storm's 20MP camera, Full HD screen, performance, battery life and Cyanogen OS

Affordable ; Strong 20MP camera ; Cyanogen

Plastic build ; No NFC ; Battery life disappoints

Wileyfox’s Storm is a solid £199 mobile phone, offering a spacious, crisp and colourful screen for media lovers (as well as expandable storage, hooray) and a surprisingly strong 20-megapixel camera that blows away most rivals. Cyanogen is perfect for...

Wileyfox Storm review

The Storm is a mid-range phone from new British smartphone maker Wileyfox. Priced for value, the Storm gives you a large 5.5 inch screen, an 8-core processor, loads of memory and a 20 megapixel camera. Unusually, the Storm runs the Android-based...

At S21, we very much welcome the arrival of a new player in the smartphone market, especially a British company, and one that has already shown itself to be brave and innovative. We wish Wileyfox every success. Yet we can't find it in our hearts to...

Firing up a Storm : Wileyfox Storm

Arriving from a new name in the Smartphone arena is a product that offers a choice of dual SIM or a combination of SIM and SD card functionality.

Apart from the poor battery performance, the Wileyfox Storm smartphone should satisfy most users looking for a mobile device that is not going to break the bank. It does face competition from a number of other 5.5-inch handsets including the Vodafone...

Wileyfox Storm review: A cheap phone that's not so cheerful

British smartphone manufacturer follows up cheap and cheerful smartphone with a better specced sibling, but is it worth the extra money?

The Wileyfox Storm is a great example of why it’s worth approaching manufacturers’ specifications sheets with a little scepticism. On paper, it looks like a real bargain, but one-by-one, the lofty promises tumble, and what originally seemed “too good...

Wileyfox Storm review

Flagship phones like the iPhone 6s and Galaxy S6 may grab headlines, but plenty of us are on a much tighter budget, and that's where the Wileyfox Storm comes in. It's a mid-range blower that packs in plenty of bells and whistles, but is that good...

At £199, the Wileyfox Storm offers incredible value for money. It packs in a 5.5-inch screen that's an absolute cracker, and while it may not offer a QHD resolution, images are still pin sharp and there's plenty more to like too. Colours jump off the...

There really isn't a lot to dislike about the Wileyfox Storm. Not everybody will appreciate the Cyanogen OS, and it may not get the latest Marshmallow updates

In short, the Wileyfox Storm is an absolute steal of a phone - both front and rear cameras are great, the screen is lovely and it's all wrapped in a design that both looks and feels good. All for less than £199. Motorola had better watch its back.
