Fujitsu Stylistic Q550 Review: Windows 7 Tablet Offers Tons of Flexibility and Features

Fujitsu is a veteran in the tablet PC game, and that experience shows to good advantage with the Stylistic Q550 (price as of June 1, 2012, starts at $729; as reviewed, $849). This Windows 7 tablet incorporates an Atom processor, and comes crammed with...

Removable battery ; Matte screen ; Fanless

Weak speaker ; Atom Oaktrail processor is sluggish ; No pen storage

The Stylistic Q550 packs such business-friendly features as a fingerprint reader and a removable battery, but its Atom processor lacks oomph.

Review Fujitsu Stylistic Q550 Oak Trail Tablet/MID

Nothing special. The Japanese company, Fujitsu, brings out a 10.1 inch tablet based on the new Intel Oak Trail range called Stylistic Q550. The IPS display, Intel's Atom Z670 single core CPU, the built-in GMA 600 graphics and the OS, Windows 7, are...

Fujitsu Stylistic Q550 review

Fujitsu is a PC maker that's firmly entrenched in the Wintel (Microsoft-meets-Intel) camp. As such, it has launched a tablet PC based around those companies' offerings, the Fujitsu Stylistic Q550.

It was tablets like the Fujitsu Stylistic Q550 that caused the computer industry to fold on Microsoft’s flawed tablet concept, long before Apple showed it was possible to build a long-lasting intuitive pad that loves fingertip control. If you’re a...

Fujitsu Stylistic Q550 Windows 7 tablet

Review Fujitsu is pitching its latest Windows 7 tablet directly at the enterprise and business markets. That's a wise move because Windows in its current form is never going to hold a candle to iOS and Android Honeycomb in terms of consumer usability....

There’s no denying that the Q550 comes with all the bells and whistles and the digitising kit will appeal to some but the fundamental gutlessness of the underpinnings makes it hard for me to give it an unqualified recommendation. I’m not even sure that...

Fujitsu Stylistic Q550

Affordable Windows 7 tablet, lots of enterprise features., Decent battery life for a Windows tablet, replaceable battery, fingerprint scanner, bright display that's outdoor viewable. Quite light for a Windows tablet. Works both with fingers and...

Quite slow, no silo for stylus, display looks murky., Very slow, the Intel Atom CPU used in this tablet isn't fast enough and even simple tasks will keep you waiting. Display isn't very sharp thanks to anti-glare and durability coatings

Though the Stylistic Q550 offers quite a few desirable features like relatively long battery life (up to 7 hours in our tests with the 4 cell battery), security features and a swappable battery, it's sluggish performance makes it hard to recommend. The...

Fujitsu Stylistic Q550 tablet review

Fujitsu's Stylistic Q550 is aiming to trump rivals in the nascent business tablet market by combining the design and form factor of a consumer device with the management and application compatibility advantages of a full Windows 7 client.

Compatible with Windows apps and infrastructure, removable battery, good security including self-encrypting SSD

Relatively heavy, sluggish performance, no slot for stowing stylus, 2GB memory limit

The Stylistic Q550 works well as a Windows 7 tablet and boasts better security features than most other tablets, making it worth evaluating for business customers. However, its performance is only on a par with a typical netbook, and it's quite heavy.

Fujitsu Stylistic Q550 Review

The Fujitsu Stylistic Q550 is a Windows 7 tablet that features a 10.1-inch capacitive multitouch screen powered by a single-core Intel Atom processor. At first glance, the Stylistic Q550 looks like a consumer-friendly tablet, with its clean lines,...

Attractive and durable design ; Silent during operation ; Replaceable battery ; Robust security features

Windows 7 not optimized for touch ; Pokey Intel Atom processor ; No place to store stylus on tablet

Unrelated to touch, there are also a few utilities includes.PortShutter is a security app that disables the ports and slots of the tablet, keeping vital corporate secrets from prying eyes. And the Battery Swap Utility puts the tablet into hibernation...
