Acer AspireRevo review

We've been thrilling to the ride of Acer's Ion-powered AspireRevo for a couple of weeks now, and despite its diminutive size and price tag, there's plenty to talk about. The model we tested included an Atom 230 processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 250GB...

Cheap ; Great graphics for the price ; Nice form factor

Disparity between gaming and basic tasks ; External disc drive doubles the footprint ; Bad Flash playback

Acer AspireRevo review

Take one netbook CPU, sprinkle on a little Nvidia magic and then sit back and relax…

Nvidia Ion ; Better Atom performance ; Good 1080p video

Slow performance on Windows

Quite possibly the best media box released so far, if only the blasted consoles didn't exist…

Acer AspireRevo

With the Acer AspireRevo, we take a look into the future of cheap computing.

Compact. Works with Blu-ray. DX10 3D support. Quiet. Energy-efficient.

Still slow compared with desktop PCs. Occasional glitches. CUDA apps don't help ATI or Intel GPU, so they aren't directly comparable.

Quick Take: Acer AspireRevo

The Acer AspireRevo is a tiny, inexpensive desktop PC with netbook innards. But if it doesn't perform well enough to handle common desktop applications or home theater, what's the point?

I'll reserve any final judgment on this thing until I can get some more RAM going, but for now the Acer AspireRevo just doesn't cut it as a secondary computer or a home theater digital media streamer. Even if you could make it work in either scenario...

Acer Aspire Revo Review

As Matt said in his unboxing, the Acer Aspire Revo is an ultra small form factor PC. It's a combination of the Intel N230 CPU and the NVidia 9400M GPU, offering high video performance in this small package. You can see Matt's...

1080p video playback ; small form factor ; low power consumption

poor hard drive speed ; design quirks could be very annoying in daily use

Acer Aspire Revo review

The Acer Aspire Revo might be a mere nettop. But this little bundle of PC joy crams in NVIDIA's Ion chipset and a HDMI port, meaning one thing only: gorgeous full HD pics beamed straight from your Aspire Revo to your slick HD TV. Throw in an Intel...

Video quality, low price, plenty of room

No optical drive, no DVI port

A cheap, stylish way to get hi–def pics on your HD TV

Acer AspireRevo - HardwareZone.com

NVIDIA has done a great job selling its Ion platform to the media. But there had been doubts over whether vendors would support it. This uncertainty has been dispelled with the first Ion based system to hit the streets, the Acer AspireRevo.

Acer Aspire Revo

Nvidia's Ion platform, which couples Intel's low-power Atom processor to an Nvidia chipset with integrated DX10-class graphics, has been generating a ton of buzz since it was officially unveiled at this year's CES. Despite the excitement surrounding...

The Revo’s Atom 230 processor runs at 1.6GHz, with 2GB of DDR2-800 and, of course, the Ion. Generally, the Revo offers performance in line with most other Atom-powered netbooks/nettops. But in situations where the Ion GPU comes into play, the Revo...
