Porsche Design Acer Book RS review: Racing pedigree or distracting body kit?

 

With that classic Porsche Design carbon fibre finish, what else does the Acer Book RS have to offer that makes it especially high-end?

Slim and light ; Has legit low-key gaming skills ; It has specs to match the suit the price- including Thunderbolt 4 ; The Porsche Design 'tax' is less than you might guess ; Quirky optional accessories bundle

Floaty touchpad ; Relatively slow pixel response - and only 1080p resolution ; Accessory package is expensive

A surprise launch indeed, bringing some more standout - maybe outlandish, depending on your viewpoint - Porsche Design design language to Acer's laptop line-up. That 'RS' badge is warranted, too, given the specification on offer. But it sure isn't cheap.
